Where we operate
The Sunshine Coast Fibreshed is located on the unceded territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw, shíshálh Nation, and Tla’amin Nation, colonially known as the area from ‘Port Mellon to Lund’.

Our mission
Our mission is to cultivate a regional fibre network centered around local fibre, natural dyes, and skilled labour, all within a framework of regenerative, soil-to-soil sustainable agriculture.
Building relationships
As an affiliate to the original Fibershed located in Northern and Central California, USA, we are part of an international grassroots network that promotes the development of regional fibre systems and communities, including economic and non-economic growth, in the form of building relationships and new global networks.
This relationship we have with land is rooted and evolving as we acknowledge and practice our understanding of being on the traditional, ancestral, and stolen territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, most specifically, the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw, shíshálh Nation, and Tla’amin Nation. Indigenous relationship with land is sacred, and we don’t take for granted the stewardship that these communities have demonstrated as a way of life since time immemorial. Without this land stewardship, we wouldn’t be here today, benefiting from, and advocating for soil-to-soil practices.
